IBAM 25 – 2018 – Monmouth University

Make plans to attend IBAM 25, set for August 2-4, 2018, at Monmouth University, Monmouth, NJ.  The Call for Papers will be issued October 1, 2017, with papers accepted during January 2018.  IBAM seeks both academic and applied scholarship in Human Resources Management, Organizational Behavior, Strategic Management, International Management, and Pedagogy.  Faculty, practitioner, and student papers are encouraged. Cross-disciplinary work is also encouraged.

The Institute of Behavioral and Applied Management (IBAM) is both scholarly and developmental, so consider submitting your work in whatever stage of development it is.

  • Ideas and poster sessions:  if you have an idea that needs input or co-researchers submit it to IBAM.
  • Workshops:  if you have a classroom or consulting practice that introduces new methods or edifies existing practice, submit it to IBAM.
  • Panels: if you know a group of subject matter experts in practice or academe, and would lead discussion on a management topic, submit it to IBAM.
  • Scholarly papers in development:  if you have developed your hypotheses,  completed your written literature review and begun your data collection, submit it to IBAM.
  • Scholarly papers complete:  if your paper is ready for publication, but not yet accepted and could benefit from suggestions from other academics and practitioners, submit it to IBAM.

IBAM’s value:

Practitioners working in the field as consultants can benefit from (1) partnering with academics for the latest theories to apply in the workplace, and (2) developing a network of potential opportunities for consulting work.

Academics teaching at accredited universities can benefit from (1) presenting research, (2) networking with other university faculty,  (3) developing research toward publication, (4) expanding your cadre of like-disciplined researchers, and (5) gaining new knowledge in technology.

Professors and instructors at online universities can benefit from (1) paper and workshop presentation, (2) learning through workshops in academic skills your terminal degree or certification may not have covered, (3) developing research toward publication, and (4) expanding your network of academic and practitioner colleagues.

Students can benefit from (1) paper presentation and poster sessions, (2) direct involvement with an active national conference, (3) expertise from academics and practitioners in the field of management, and (4) opportunities to serve the academic community.

The Journal of Behavioral and Applied Management (JBAM) is published three times each year.  Best papers from IBAM are automatically considered for publication.  A special edition of JBAM, featuring best work from IBAM 25, is scheduled.

Look for the newly designed IBAM website and the Call for Papers on October 1, 2017, and plan to join your friends at IBAM 25, August 2-4, at Monmouth University, Monmouth, New Jersey.

Blending Theory and Practice

Greetings IBAM’ers!

It seems like we were in Orlando just yesterday for IBAM 22, so it’s hard to believe that it’s already time for the IBAM 23 Call for Papers!

IBAM 23 will be held at Robert Morris University from Oct. 8-10, 2015. The campus of Robert Morris University is beautiful, and is just a short drive from downtown Pittsburgh. This year’s conference theme will be “Blending Theory and Practice”, so we will be looking for papers that have a practical application. We have assembled a marketing team that has already developed some very creative ideas to promote the conference, but the best promotion is word of mouth, so please share the following call with your colleagues.

Ken Levitt
IBAM President, 2013-2015
