We can’t wait to see you in BEAUTIFUL San Diego!

Our conference hotel – The Catamaran Resort Hotel & Spa – invited me to be their guest for a Luau. It was a fantastic evening and the staff (as always) was simply amazing. Below are various picture collages from the evening so you can get a feel for how wonderful IBAM 2013 is going to be!!

When you first enter the Catamaran, you are welcomed with this beautiful waterfall. The hotel owners requested this because they feel in love with something similar in Hawaii and really wanted the entire resort to have the look and feel of Hawaiian architecture. There is also a view of the lovely outdoor restaurant as well as the private dock.

Above are some of the pictures from the Catamaran’s official website. Beach – exotic birds – many seating areas – lovely pool – great rooms – and a fantastic gym and spa!

These are some pictures I took last week …  of the white – sandy – beachfront at the hotel. Go for a walk – rent a paddle boat or bike – dip your toes in the water – simply RELAX!

Next – a series of pictures from the sunset luau. The food and entertainment were each outstanding. I attended a luau in Hawaii last year and actually found this one to be so much better!

Unfortunately, the Catamaran only offers weekly luaus during the summer months. However, if there is enough interest, IBAM could contract for a private luau as an event for Friday evening (this would be an additional fee).

If you enjoy city lights views then you will want to take a ride on one of the Catamaran’s sternwheelers. This is a great activity that IBAM is considering for Friday evening. Passage is complimentary for all who are staying at the hotel. The Bahia Belle travels between the sister hotels of the Catamaran and the Bahia (located across from Belmont Park & the famous Belmont Roller Coaster) so it also serves as a convenient transportation source. While on board, there is music, dancing, beverages, etc. They feature earlier times for families and cocktail cruises in the later hours (must be 21).

I hope these pictures have helped to show some of the amazing features of IBAM’s 2013 conference location – The Catamaran Resort Hotel & Spa! A great reason to bring a guest along as well – fun for all!  Once presenters and participants have registered for the conference, please feel free to contact me about our special guest rates for spouses, significant others, and children.

We are very excited to let you know that the IBAM2013 conference registration is now open!    Register now to take advantage of the Early Bird Registration discount.   Below are conference highlights.  We can’t wait to see you in BEAUTIFUL San Diego!

2013 Theme: Embracing Change

One of the earliest-known thinkers on change, the Greek philosopher Heraclitus, is credited with saying, “There is nothing permanent except change.”  As professors, practitioners and students of behavioral and applied management, we know that change is not always a welcome guest, despite its persistence.  It is usually in these times of movement and discontinuity that significant change occurs. Current thought suggests that organizations that embrace change resist complacency and lead innovation.  What emerge are new theories, products, processes and practices. Authors are encouraged to submit papers on the topic Embracing Change in the contexts of industry, profession, education and community.

More Opportunities to Appear on Conference Program

If you didn’t submit a paper to the conference, but wish to be considered for service as a facilitator, session discussant, or session chair, there are still many opportunities for you to serve and to be listed on the official conference program.  Contact Ken Levitt, Program Chair for more details about other facilitator opportunities or one of the Division Chairs for Discussant and Session Chair opportunities.

Conference Hotel

The Catamaran Resort Hotel & Spa located right on Mission Bay and just steps from the Mission Beach ocean front. Our selected hotel will awaken your senses; relax the body and sooth the soul.
